SWANDOWN

Channel 4/Britdoc film 'Swandown' directed by Andrew Kötting featured track 'Then the Birds Came' from MacGillivray's second album using voice-changing equipment, 'Radiophonic Subluna'. Working with Kötting and Jem Finer on Visionary Seascapes II, vocal samples by MacGillivray can be heard on tracks 'Mute Swans', 'Pylonbells' and 'Swandown' collaged into Finer's evocative seascapes. MacGillivray co-wrote several tracks with Finer and Kötting and composed 'Swanbeat'. Swandown screened in the ACID’S 20th anniversary        CANNES FILM FESTIVAL  selection on May 22nd 2013.

"Cut-ups and smidgeons abound. Jem Finer and Andrew Kötting have assembled yet another veritable bricolage featuring the gorgeous voice of MacGillivray. As well as original music from the film Swandown, acoustic magic weaves its way through these beautifully constructed soundscapes. Elegaic, beguiling and haunting. The compositions have a sublime and soaring beauty that might never sink to the bottom of the ocean.” Joe Haulaway
